Two state GOP candidates signed a no tax increase pledge at the party’s July 12 monthly meeting at Grotto Pizza before a capacity crowd.
Dover City Councilman and 31st Rep-resentative District candidate David Anderson, and 32nd Representative District candidate Cheryl Precourt held signed pledges to Delaware tax-payers that stated: “I will oppose and vote against any and all efforts to increase taxes.”
Temple University Economics Associate Professor Sherry Jarrell, a Dover native present at the event, endorsed the pledge. “The benefits to controlling taxes are not just a political opinion, but an economic fact.” There only exception is public safety or natural disaster in the term. Both favor significant spending reforms.
Councilman David Anderson has a record of accomplishment built upon focusing on what matters most. He is a
leader in creating a pro-jobs city, standing up for the youth, fighting the opioid crisis, authored safe communities
law, funding community policing, and finding millions in cost savings. He has never voted to raise our taxes. He
is endorsed by the Dover Taxpayer Alliance, the 31st District Republican Committee, and the Independent Party of Delaware.
